The Reorganization Committee decided to bring on a project manager at the suggestion of our Director. This is a major project and we want it to be excellent. The following are areas volunteers can get involved. We are using an Agile project management approach ensuring that all volunteers can get right to work.
A commitment of 4-6 hours of your time per month with a 1-hour virtual meeting requirement is all it takes to join.
Describe and identify community partnerships that will offer an educational/professional pipeline, financial support, student internship opportunities, staff development and/or other resources.
Initial Focus: Establish "point" people at our SDA Universities and determine what are true, tangible collaboration opportunities.
Describe plans for recruiting and training staff.
Initial Focus: Develop a network of volunteers who can be then recruited once school opens.
SCHOOL CLIMATE & CULTURE
Describe the vision for the school culture and climate, and a strategy for developing it among students, teachers/staff, and the supporting community.
Initial Focus: Determining the community "Sacred Cows" and compiling alumni wish list.
MARKETING & RECRUITMENT
Describe plans for recruiting students to Golden Gate Academy.
Initial Focus: Solidification of our brand strategy. Identify competency over content/PBL/STEM/SEL as the focus of the educational plan through branding and marketing materials.
Describe how the school model works, its position and uniqueness.
Initial Focus: Determine what is lacking in Griggs and decide what supplements need to be added to the curriculum.
Describe what industry and partnerships will generate revenue for school sustainability.
Initial Focus: Determine what VC's are interested in investing in incubator opportunities and the UCI Grant.
GOVERNANCE & MANAGEMENT
Describe how the school will be governed and managed.
Initial Focus: Establish the relationship between GGA and GGALP finalize the nonprofit status. Function as a Management "Think Tank" for Director.
Describe the financial management plan.
Initial Focus: Oversite of the proforma document. Developing by-laws and job descriptions for Financial Committee members.
Describe how we will use data to track student progress and our plans for managing student and other school data.
Initial Focus: Make sure we are in alignment with Northern California Conference on everything. (NAD Rollup Compatibility)
Describe plans for locating resources and developing school facilities.
Initial Focus: Locating "our partners" the companies/people we can trust to upgrade the field and other typical contract work.
Describe the technology integration plan.
Initial Focus: Infrastructure- Maintenance and oversight. Assets - student resources, student opportunities. Acquisitions - equipment and technologies
